The options available to patients when seeking dental treatment have never been higher. Not only does the patient have choices in which office to seek dental treatment, but once they choose a dentist, the options in treatment range from emergency only care to a complete smile makeover. The clinical skills of the dentist, although a consideration in patient decisions, typically ranks rather low as compared with other factors in the patient’s decision process in choosing a dentist and in choosing the level of dentistry desired.

From the first phone contact to the office to the approval in scheduling desired treatment, patients are asked to make decisions.
